In 2009 she received the Mayor’s Key for Leesville City, LA for her work with young children playing sports who have aspirations in competing at the collegiate level; in 2013 she was recognized by the city of San Marcos for her contributions to the development of students at Gary Job Corps; in 2018 she received the Schertz, Cibolo, Universal City ISD Volunteer of the Year award. Her greatest achievement has been a parent to her two adult children who are both college graduates.
